Santillo Shiani, or her pet name Daisy, is our Chocolate Burmese. Born on
the 19th December 2007, she is a fantastic example of what a Burmese should
be. Please see our “Pedigree” page for more details on Daisy’s ancestry.
Daisy likes nothing more than sneaking
into bed. She’s not particularly fussy as to whose – if the humans aren’t
in theirs she’ll quite happily snuggle in with Harriet the Beagle! You
never quite know where you are going to find Daisy – she can just about
open all of our doors and drawers and has worried us many a time with her
strange disappearances. Often we will find her snoozing in our clothes in
one of our drawers, in a cardboard box somewhere, in a handbag or in some other
obscure place. Once she even managed to get inside the lining of our
curtains!
Daisy is most definitely the boss of our
household and she is also the one who plots all of the mischief that the girls
get up to! Her latest (annoying!) habit is one of theft! Despite
having a supply of dry cat food out for them twenty-four-seven, Daisy still
prefers to help herself to the entire 2kg bag from the top of a tall unity,
open the bag and eat it fresh from the packet! This may explain why a
judge at a show that we recently took the girls to described her as ‘a nice
looking girl who, like many of us, could benefit from losing a little weight
around the tummy area’! J
